Extra tickets for Eastons sell-out 'The Go Between' acquired

After selling out our entire coach in less than eight hours, Eastons are pleased to be able to offer a second coach to The Go Between.

This spectacular offer cannot be missed! At just £59 the price includes return executive coach travel, your theatre ticket and lunch at Grace near Piccadilly Circus. Our excursion, on Saturday 15th October, is the final day of the show running after a highly limited period of just five months in the West End.

Featuring stunning music, evocative staging and a passionate, beautiful coming of age story, this bold new musical is delighting and enchanting audiences of all age. Michael Crawford plays Leo Colston, a man still haunted by the events of 50 years ago during the hot summer of 1900 and the time spent in Norfolk at the country house of his school friend Marcus. He vividly recalls his unwitting role acting as a go-between for the beautiful upper-class Marian (Gemma Sutton) and tenant-farmer Ted (Stuart Ward). The illicit love affair, carried out against the wishes of her formidable mother (Issy van Randwyck) and behind the back of Viscount Trimingham (Stephen Carlile), drags young Leo into an adult world of passion and intrigue where he discovers feelings he’s never experienced before. Michael Crawford is back centre stage in his first major musical role in more than a decade. Book your tickets today and experience The Go-Between for yourself.

£1 million investment completed with delivery of third brand new coach

Eastons are proud to announce the completion of a landmark £1 million investment with the delivery of our third new coach for the 2016 season.

Delivered to us on Wednesday from Moseley Distributors, an industry leader in the supply of coaches and the UK's largest independent coach dealer, is the second of a pair of VDL Futura 2 coaches; the first of which was delivered in May. These two executive coaches join our Mercedes Benz Tourismo delivered in May which completed the trio of new coaches for the year.

Investment is a key factor contributing towards the success of our day excursion and holiday programme which was awarded the prestigious "Top UK Coach Travel Programme" at the UK Coach Awards in April.

The VDL Futura 2 is the successor to the older Bova Futura, which was one of the longest selling coaches on the market. Our history with the Bova Futura dates back as far as the 1980s with vehicle A585GPE, one of the first Futuras delivered in the United Kingdom.

Thirty years forward and the VDL Futura 2 is better than ever, with an ultra-clean Euro 6 standard engine, generous leg room, climate control and an onboard toilet and washroom. At the rear of the coach our two new VDL Futura 2s are specified with four seats rather than five to offer premium space and extra comfort to passengers travelling 'on the back row'.

Our three new coaches are allocated to our drivers Shaun, Gary and Corbett and will see use across our programme on UK and Continental Holidays, Weekend Breaks, Day Excursions and private coach hire.

Some excellent customer feedback this May

This month we're celebrating some excellent customer feedback coming in. On all of our holidays we provide customer feedback forms to help us understand what our customers love, and what they would like to see added or improved. This month, we've received numerous accounts from customers who have gone beyond this to make contact with us.

Helen Copperthwaite wrote into the Eastern Daily Press this month...

"Award Deserved: How heartening to see the report (EDP May 6) that Eastons Coach Holiday firm has received a Gold Award at the the recent National UK Coach Industry Awards ceremony. I am a regular traveller with Eastons on both five-day holidays in both the UK and Europe and also on their varied and interesting day excursions. Robert Easton and his team of friendly, helpful and safe drivers provide the best customer service I have experienced on these types of trips. The coaches are excellent, clean and modern and the drivers are always well breifed and knowledgeable about the destination, facilities etc. Some years ago I decided never to travel with any other coach company and have never regretted that decision. I heartily congratulate the whole Eastons team on their well deserved award."

Jackie Flatt

"On behalf of me and my husband we both like to say what a wonderful time we have going on your trips. We recently went to Stratford  Upon Avon and had an enjoyable day. The bus driver Martin was very friendly as they always are. We have some more planned in the coming year and will be going on more in the future. Definitely recommend to friends and family.”

Dave Leggett

"Just a quick post to say a big thank you for a superb day on 11/05/2016 going to The Lion King. A great trip all round, a truly wonderful show to see and fantastic seats in the Royal Circle. Driver Joe was superb giving us a fascinating guided tour of London on the way in and out with lots of facts and figures. Super clean and comfortable modern coach as well. Look foward to next trip with Eastons, just got to decide where to go which won't be easy with such a huge choice"

Claire Smith

"Thank you Eastons for a wonderful holiday to Shropshire. The new coach is sooo comfortable. Hotel was extremely good and Gary was great too. Looked after us very well, even though he had to wait for over an hour for us to get off the train at Bridgnorth, he was so patient."

Ten things you probably didn't know about London

Trips to London are among the best selling excursions on our award winning programme and most of our customers have travelled to the bustling capital with us... but we bet you didn’t know these ten facts about London!

  1. A higher proportion of the Underground system is overground That’s right. Only 45% of the tracks are in underground tunnels, the other 55% of the network is actually out of tunnels.
  2. London buses were not originally red What?! The first London bus was actually blue. London buses were painted in different colours to signify the route they operated on. In 1907 London General Omnibus Company painted all their buses to stand out among the competition.
  3. The staircases of the Barclays headquarters in Canary Wharf can get wider In the event of an emergency or threat, the staircases of the Barclays skyscraper in Canary Wharf can expand by 200mm to allow extra capacity.
  4. There is a place in London where you must drive on the right hand side of the road Unlike everywhere else in the United Kingdom you must drive on the right hand side of the road along the entrance to The Savoy Hotel (Near Strand). The reasons are not known, though it is believed so that taxis and private hire vehicles can drop off right outside the entrance door.
  5. Black cab drivers in London must memorise every street in a six mile radius of Charing Cross Before becoming a licenced black cab driver, candidates must pass what is known as ‘The Knowledge’. This test means that all the streets within a six mile radius of Charing Cross must be known from memory.
  6. The clock faces of Big Ben are only cleaned once every five years Approximately every five years a team of absailers clean the clock face with soap and water.
  7. The shortest journey on the tube takes around 20 seconds The shortest possible journey on the tube is between Covent Garden and Leciester Square, taking just about 20 seconds. Infact, the stations are so close together that you can stand half way between each station entrance on Long Acre and see both of them.
  8. It is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament Your guess is as good as ours, but yes it is illegal to die anywhere in the Houses of Parliament.
  9. The 32 London Eye capsules represent the 32 London Boroughs But… the capsules are numbered 1-33! The number 13 is emitted from the numbering, possibly because of superstition.
  10. There are 28,000 tulips outside Buckingham Palace According to The Royal Parks, there are 28,000 tulips planted outside Buckingham Palace in the memorial gardens.

Have the facts above got you intrigued? Go and find out for yourself! Take a look at these London excursions:

Brand new Mercedes Benz Tourismo for Eastons Holidays

Eastons Holidays have recently taken delivery of brand new Mercedes Benz Tourismo executive touring coach for use across our award winning day excursion and holiday programme.

The new vehicle offers the all in passenger comfort, with a spacious interior, comfortable cloth seating with leather headrests and a toilet and washroom with electric hand dryer.

The interior finishing was chosen with a tasteful eye, having a stunning contrast between light and dark, featuring wood effect flooring and Luxiline seating finished with red trim.

Though purple from the outside, the new Mercedes Benz Tourismo is green on the inside boasting a Euro 6 engine; the latest in the EU engine emission standard regulations. This means that the vehicle outputs no more than 0.46 millgrams of harmful nitrogen oxide particles per killowatt hour. Furthermore, the Tourismo features Mercedes Benz's cutting edge Blue-Tech engine system which significantly reduces fuel consumption.

The choice of vehicle comes following our many successes with vehicles built by sister brand Setra, of which we operate five. The Mercedes Benz Tourismo replaces the Setra line in the United Kingdom, providing extra fuel efficiency and increased comfort.

The delivery marks the first part of our landmark 2016 fleet invesment programme, which will see further vehicles joining the fleet throughout the year.
