Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to Folkestone for our Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. We will arrive at our overnight hotel early evening with time to settle in before dinner.
Day 2: Departing after breakfast we continue our journey to the Hohenauer Hof in Hohenau, with suitable stops along the route. After dinner, we enjoy a torch-lit walk with our hosts including mulled wine.
Day 3 – 7: We have included 4 excursions and one and a half days at leisure during your resort stay:
Half day excursion to the Czech city of Cesky Krumlov. This charming town experienced its greatest prosperity during the rule of Lords of Rožmberk (1302- 1602), who chose Ceský Krumlov to become the seat of their kingdom. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a lively cosmopolitan town with a unique atmosphere surrounded by unspoiled countryside. Dominated by a Castle stretching over the meandering Vltava River, Ceský Krumlov’s narrow cobblestone streets wind along romantic nooks between patrician houses. Here you will find cosy inns, coffee shops, and ancient taverns.
Großer Arber, Joska Crystal Adventure & horse-drawn sleigh ride
We set off this morning for a truly scenic drive through the Bavarian Forest’s wintry countryside, passing the Großer Arber, the region’s highest mountain. Our journey concludes at Bodenmais, where we visit Joska Crystal Adventure world for a fascinating glass blowing demonstration. Later in the afternoon, we are taken for a horse drawn sleigh ride, followed by a visit to a skiing hut with snacks and entertainment provided.
Today we travel into the centre of Passau on our included excursion, picturesquely set at the confluence of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz. Our guide will introduce you to the charming old town with its grand squares and elegant landmarks such as the magnificent St. Steven’s Cathedral, home to the world’s largest church organ before you will have free time to explore the “City of the Three Rivers” at leisure.
Husky Farm & Neuschonau
This morning we enjoy a visit to a husky farm, where we have a guided tour focusing on the housing, feeding and training of the dogs. We enjoy a hot drink at the farm, before heading off for a stunning guided walk through the treetops at Baumwipfelpfad (Treetop Path), in the village of Neuschönau on the edge of the Bavarian Forest. Make your way through the highest echelons of the forest, pausing to learn and explore along the way, then ascend the 40m high viewing platform. A beautiful piece of architecture in its own right, the viewing tower guides you up a spiral – slowly emerging above the treeline to be rewarded with incredible views over the sprawling forest.
Day 8: Departing our hotel after breakfast, we travel to our overnight hotel, making suitable stops en-route.
Day 9: We continue our journey to Calais for the mid-afternoon Eurotunnel crossing to Folkestone. Upon arrival, we travel back to Norfolk, where our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
