Discover the unsurpassed beauty of the Rhine Valley, the longest river in Germany, with stunning landscapes of breathtaking natural beauty. Meandering through this spectacular region, the steep vineyard-covered mountains reveal fairytale castles, mysterious ruins, majestic palaces and enchanting medieval towns.

Day 1: Following an early morning home pick up, we make our way to Dover for our mid-morning sailing. We continue our journey through Belgium and Germany to Boppard.

Day 2: We begin with a visit to the city of Koblenz, famed for the mighty Ehrenbrietstein Fortress. We have free time here to view the Deutsches Eck, the meeting point of the Moselle and Rhine rivers. This afternoon we head to the village of Alken, located in the Moselle Valley, for an included wine tasting at the famous wine cellars of Anton Hammes.

Days 3 – 6: We have included 3 excursions and one day at leisure during your resort stay:

Included Excursions

Cochem & Bernkastel
We travel through the Moselle valley to Cochem, renowned as one of the prettiest towns along the Moselle with its many fine buildings, quaint cottages, black & tan guild houses and winding streets. We have free time here to explore before we continue our tour visiting the enchanting wine village of Bernkastel- Kues. This ancient village has long been famous for its beautiful market squares and its wine-growing traditions.

Loreley, Rüdesheim & Paddle ship RMS Goethe to Boppard
We cross the Rhine to travel the short distance up to the Loreley Rock viewpoint. The rock is associated with the legend of a beautiful maiden who threw herself into the Rhine in despair over a faithless lover, and was transformed into a siren who lured fishermen to destruction. We continue to the Asbach visitors centre in Rüdesheim, for the chance to sample some of the finest Brandy from the area. Following this, we have ample free time to spend in this charming town with the famous Drosselgasse with its numerous cafes and restaurants, several with beautiful facades. Later we head to the landing stage for an included cruise along the Rhine onboard the paddle ship RMS Goethe to Boppard. (Due to operational requirements the standard of vessel or timetable may be changed at short notice).

Konigswinter & Drachenfelsbahn
We cross the Rhine and make our way to the riverside village of Konigswinter located at the foot of the Drachenfels Mountain. Surrounded by vineyards, it boasts one of the most beautiful riverside promenades of the Rhine. Here we have an included ride on Germany’s oldest rack railway, the Drachenfelsbahn. This small cog railway runs up from the village to the famous Drachenfels rock, perched high above the Rhine offering fantastic views across the Rhine. After free time we return via the old town of Linz, known as the colourful city of the Rhine before returning to our hotel in Boppard.

Day 7: We return to Calais for our mid-afternoon sailing. We continue to Norfolk, where our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
