Monday 7th - Friday 11th September 2020
The pretty fishing town of Looe is a truly delightful and picturesque place, separated into two towns of East and West Looe by the River Looe flowing out to sea. The small harbour is still a busy fishing port and watching the hustle and bustle as the fishermen return home with their catch is a great way to appreciate the town. Meander your way through the maze-like streets, learn of the towns maritime history or simply relax on the wide sandy beach the choice is yours and a laid back holiday awaits you in Looe.
Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to Looe for our 4 night stay at the Portbyhan Hotel on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: Today we make our way to the coastal village of Mevagissey, an attractive old town which was once the centre of Cornwall’s pilchard fishery and which still boasts a working harbour. We then make our way to one of the most unique and fascinating attractions in Cornwall - The Lost Gardens of Heligan. A genuine secret garden lost for decades. Now, with an incredible 200 acres of gardens and estate to explore. We enjoy a guided tour with a leisurely stroll around the main features of the Northern Gardens.
Day 3: We travel along the Heritage Coast to the picture postcard village of Polperro. Many of the streets are so narrow that cars are banned; it was once a thriving centre for smuggling and is still a working fishing village. This afternoon we head to Lanhydrock House and gardens, one of the grandest and most welcoming houses in Cornwall. Discover the fascinating contrast between the upstairs and downstairs worlds by exploring the kitchens and servants quarters as well as the grand family spaces.
Day 4: A day at leisure.
Day 5: We depart for Norfolk where our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
