For decades, the famous Blackpool Illuminations have been drawing crowds from all over the world, eager to see the greatest Free Show on Earth! For two whole months Blackpool seafront and the splendid Tower are transformed into a magical, fairytale world of glorious light and colour interspersed with impressive story-telling tableaux. This magnificent display features over one million bulbs, hundreds of illuminated figures and themes and fifty miles of festoon strip. All this, combined with a choice of great hotel locations, good food and hospitality - and some superb sightseeing tours - make our breaks to visit the Blackpool Illuminations an unforgettable holiday experience.
Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, we make our way to the Imperial hotel in Blackpool for our 4 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: We spend the morning browsing at the Oswaldtwistle Mill’s Outlet, the former Weaving Mill has over 100 retailers all under one roof. Later we head for Samlesbury Hall, one of the stunning stately homes in Lancashire, and a haven for history lovers. Built in 1325, Samlesbury Hall is steeped in fascinating history, retaining its original typical black and white exterior. Enjoy intrigue, witchcraft and centuries of enthralling times gone by throughout their archive rooms. From the Tudor priest holes to the Victorian kitchen, the Hall has history from (and for) every age. With the turbulent tales of its Catholic families, witches and the haunting of Lady Dorothy (and other ghost stories), a captivating insight into life from the early 14th to the 21st century is all waiting to be discovered. This evening after dinner we board our coach for a tour through the famous Blackpool Illuminations.
Day 3: A day at leisure.
Day 4: Our excursion takes us to the popular town of Bowness in the beautiful Lake District for some free time. After lunch, we board our boat for a relaxing cruise on Lake Windermere to Lakeside. Following our arrival, we join the steam train from Lakeside to Haverthwaite. You then rejoin our coach for the return to Blackpool.
Day 5: After breakfast we make the journey back to Norfolk making suitable stops en-route. Upon arrival our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
