The beautiful Lake District and its many hidden treasures are a joy to discover as we get off the beaten track to some of the most spectacular parts of the park with Mountain Goat. This is a perfect way to experience the true beauty of the Lake District, visiting places inaccessible by our tour coach taking in local knowledgeable from our local guide. Expect breathtaking scenery, superb history is Keswick and Grasmere and a landscape that has inspired legends over the centuries!

Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to the Skiddaw Hotel in Keswick for our five night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.

Day 2: Today we board the ‘Mountain Goat’ minibuses for our ‘High Adventure’. The tour focuses around the Western Lake District travelling over the Lake District’s famous mountain passes; Hardknott and Wrynose, which are some of the steepest in Great Britain. During your day you will have time to enjoy a narrow gauge heritage train ride, see England’s deepest lake and visit the grounds of the 14th Century Muncaster Castle. This tour is a chance to see the real Lake District!

Day 3: This morning we visit the Rheged Discovery Centre, near Penrith. The centre is situated in Britain’s largest grass covered building. Explore the shops, art galleries, craft and photography exhibitions. We continue to England’s “most beautiful lake”, Ullswater, for a cruise on a ‘steamer’ from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding. We return to Keswick with the afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: Our leisurely morning begins with a short heritage railway journey from Haverthwaite to Lakeside, followed by a cruise on Lake Windermere to Bowness. We have free time to explore this lovely resort which has many things to enjoy including The World of Beatrix Potter, Museums, Shops, Pubs and Restaurants. From here we stop in Grasmere, before returning to our hotel.

Day 5: Explore Keswick at leisure.

Day 6: We depart for our return to Norfolk, where our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
