Set in a beautiful sweeping bay the traditional resort of Llandudno is enclosed by the headlands of the Great Orme and Little Orme, 700 feet of sheer limestone that juts out into the sea. You can ascend to the top of the Great Orme in a cable car or Victorian Tramway and enjoy spectacular views across Anglesey and Snowdonia. The tranquillity of Llandudno with its pleasant shopping centre and wide level promenade make it one of the most popular seaside resorts in Wales.
Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, we head into North Wales and our hotel for our 7 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: Day at leisure.
Day 3: We visit the historic town of Beaumaris, before pausing at Lanfair PG, shortened from the 58 letter longest named village in Britain. This afternoon we visit Plas-Newydd. This 18th Century estate is home to the Marquess of Anglesey and is situated on the banks of the Menai Strait.
Day 4: Today we enjoy a day out to the historic City of Chester. On arrival, we meet our guide for an informative coach tour of the area. After the tour, there is free time to explore the ‘Rows’, a famous two-tier medieval shopping complex dating back to the Middle Ages. You can also enjoy a walk around the top of the red stone battlements of the City Walls, or a stroll down to the River Dee. Later we have a leisurely cruise on the River Dee before returning to the hotel.
Day 5: The highlight of this holiday is a trip on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, Britain’s only rack & pinion railway up the highest mountain in England and Wales. The 2 hour round trip climbs through the atmospheric landscape of Snowdon. (This excursion is subject to weather conditions, therefore in adverse weather, alternative arrangements will be made). On our return to the hotel we have some free time in the delightful village of Betws-y-coed, the ‘Gateway to Snowdonia’, - a beautiful location set amongst woods and riverbanks.
Day 6: This morning we visit Bodnant Gardens, an incredible vision of the McLaren family first created over 150 years ago. Nestled in the Snowdonian foothills, this world-famous garden is home to National Collections and Champion Trees and boasts sweeping lawns, grand terraces and verdant woodland.
Day 7: Day at leisure.
Day 8: We depart for Norfolk, where our door to door service will be waiting to take you home.
