Saturday 11th - Friday 17th July 2020
Travelling by rail is a great way to see spectacular sceneries of Scottish Highlands. Our coach holidays featuring railways will take you on the best rail journeys in Scotland, including the spectacular Kyle Line Railway, Strathspey Steam Railway, and of course the famous West Highland Line with the amazing Jacobite Steam Train.
Day 1: Following your home taxi pick up we make our way north to our overnight hotel.
Day 2: After breakfast we journey further north to The Highlander hotel
Day 3: We board the Kyle Line train at Inverness for a journey through some dramatic scenery climbing over the Highlands. It’s little wonder Michael Palin described this journey as “one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world”. We make our way to Eilean Donan Castle.
Day 4: Today we board the Jacobite Steam Train, on a single journey between Fort William and Mallaig to follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter along the route used by the Hogwarts Express. From views of mighty Ben Nevis, your memorable journey leads past the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar, and over the famous 21 arch Glenfinnan viaduct. Following free time in Mallaig, we return to our hotel.
Day 5: Today we board the Strathspey Steam Railway. Enjoy the nostalgia on board the relaxing heritage railway travelling from Aviemore to Broomhill through the stunning Cairngorm National Park and Boat of Garten station. On arrival we board our coach and return to our hotel for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 6: Day at leisure.
Day 7: We bid farewell and return to Norfolk where our door to door taxi service will be waiting to take you home.
