Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to our hotel in Scotland for our 4 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: This morning we head over the Rest and be Thankful Pass. The name comes from the words etched on a stone near the junction of the A83 and the B828, by soldiers who built the original military road in 1753. The road was so long and steep that it was traditional for weary travellers to rest at the top and be thankful for having reached the highest point. From here we make the short drive to Inveraray, a classic example of an 18th century planned town, built by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, chief of the powerful Clan Campbell. With its distinctive whitewashed buildings, the town is a magnificent piece of Scottish Georgian architecture. Whilst here we will visit the majestic Inveraray Castle and its spectacular gardens. Its fairytale façade house’s an equally enchanting interior. Following your visit here, there will be free time in Inveraray where you may wish to visit the Jail or the woollen mill (entry not included).
Day 3: Today we travel to Loch Katrine for a two hour cruise on SS Sir Walter Scott, on our return we have also included a light lunch. We then take a scenic drive over the Dukes Pass to Aberfoyle for free time, before heading back to our hotel.
Day 4: After breakfast we make our way to our second castle of the tour - Stirling castle. One of Scotland’s most historic castles, and a great royal residence of Stuart Kings and of Mary Queen of Scots, who was declared monarch here in 1543, aged only nine months. Later this afternoon we make our way to Balloch for an hour cruise on Loch Lomand, before returning to our hotel.
Day 5: After a hearty breakfast we return to Norfolk where our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
