Discover the beautiful Yorkshire coast with a Scarborough coach holiday – it’s the original seaside resort featuring glorious beaches, scenery and an array of compelling, historic attractions. Wander along the beachfront and call it at the shellfish stalls, chance your hand in an amusement arcade or pull up a deckchair and enjoy an ice cream from one of the local parlours – this is seaside heaven!.
The town itself is great for shopping with a heady mix of independent boutiques and big name stores for lovers of retail therapy.
Scarborough’s far ranging appeal is one of many great aspects about this lovely UK seaside town, and its many attractions and glorious beachfront are reason enough for thousands of tourists to return year after year.
Day 1: Joining the coach from one of our convenient local joining points, we travel to the Esplanade hotel in Scarborough for our 4 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: We head north following the coast road to Whitby, the famous fishing port which was once the home of Captain James Cook. High above the harbour stands the 7th century Whitby Abbey, the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. After lunch, we depart for the picturesque village of Goathland famous as ‘Aidensfield’ in the TV series ‘Heartbeat’.
Day 3: This morning we visit Eden Camp, near Malton, an original World War II prisoner of war camp and now a museum exhibiting the spirit of wartime Britain. The site offers much of interest ranging from aeroplanes to historic cars to munitions and a superb selection of wartime memorabilia. This afternoon we have a short drive to nearby Filey, with chance to enjoy a stroll along the delightful sea front overlooking the town’s excellent beaches. In Filey we have arranged for a Cream Tea at the White Lodge Hotel, with beautiful views out to sea.
Day 4: Day at leisure. Wander along the beachfront and call it at the shellfish stalls, chance your hand in an amusement arcade or enjoy an ice cream from one of the local parlours – this is seaside heaven!.
Day 5: After breakfast we make our way back to Norfolk, making suitable stops en-route. Upon arrival you will be dropped off at your selected departure point.
