Set sail on a seven-night river cruise from the charismatic city of Cologne, and meander the Rhine and Moselle Rivers in complete comfort, on board the MV Prinses Christina. Overlooked by vine-clad slopes and legendary fairy tale castles we travel up and downstream taking in the historic river side towns of Andernach and Cochem, the 'pearl of the Moselle', passing the Loreley Rock and arriving at the ever-popular town of Rüdesheim.
Day 1: Following your early morning home taxi collection, we continue our journey to Cologne where we join our river vessel, the MS Prinses Christina with time to settle into our cabins before this evening’s dinner.
Day 2- 7 At leisure onboard MS Prinses Christina sailing to the following destinations.
Andernach
This pretty town is one of the oldest towns in Germany. Why not spend time exploring this old walled town with over 2000 years of history. See the stunning sights such as the 56m tall "Runde Turm" (round tower), the Mariendom (Cathedral of Mary) and the old crane on the Rhine Riverfront.
Cochem
Cochem, the ‘pearl of the Moselle’, a picturesque town with narrow cobbled streets and twisting alleys and restored half-timbered houses with slate roofs, overlooked by the magnificent Reichsburg Castle. Cochem is the biggest town in the district and the Reichsburg Castle was first documented in 1130. The castle was once an Imperial castle as in 1151 King Konrad III named it his home. Why not visit the castle or enjoy one of the many cafés which offer a wide range of local pastries and cakes.
Koblenz
This historic city is located on the convergence of three mountain ranges and two rivers with the ‘Deutsches Eck’, a colossal monument to Wilhelm I, proudly marking the place where the Rhine & Moselle Rivers meet.
Rudesheim
Rüdesheim is a beautiful town which is famous for its narrow streets including the Drosselgasse, it's locally produced wines, shops with hand-made treasures and relaxing cafes.
Konigswinter
This riverside town is situated at the foot of the Siebengebirge.
Cologne
While in Cologne why not explore and have a look at some of the stunning attractions such as Cologne Cathedral, City Hall which was once a medieval house or the stunning waterfront.
