Day 1: Joining the coach from a local convenient local joining point we travel to the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre. The Heritage Centre tells the dramatic story of the Battle of Bosworth on Monday 22nd August 1485, where Richard III fought for his crown and lost his life, and Henry Tudor became King! With interactive, hands-on displays and a range of activities, you can find out about medieval warfare, how the battle unfolded and the impact of the new and powerful Tudor dynasty. We continue to the Hilton Hotel, Leicester for our two-night stay.
Day 2: After breakfast, we make the short journey into Leicester, where we meet our guide for an informative walking tour of Leicester before continuing to the King Richard III visitor centre. Using great storytelling, beautiful design and 21st century technology, the King Richard III visitor centre tells the fascinating and moving story of the king’s life and death and reveals one of the greatest archaeological detective stories ever told. It will take about 90 minutes to get around the Visitor Centre but of course, your visit may be longer or shorter depending on how long you wish to spend exploring.
Day 3: After breakfast, we travel the short distance to the Botanical Gardens in Leicester, 16 acres of lovingly cultivated gardens and greenhouses and each year it is transformed into an inspirational outdoor gallery. After Lunch en-route to Norfolk, we call into the lovely village of Fotheringhay, where Richard was born in 1452. We continue to your chosen joining point.
