Feldkirch & Liechtenstein
We head to Western Austria and the town of Feldkirch. Situated on the banks of the turquoise Ill River, at the foot of wooded mountains, vineyards and a castle-crowned hill. Explore the well-preserved old town, which wings you back to late-medieval times with its cobbled, arcaded lanes, towers and pastel-coloured townhouses. We continue to one of the smallest countries in Europe today, Liechtenstein. We stop in the capital Vaduz, where there will be the opportunity to visit the Liechtenstein National Museum, which gives a fascinating insight into the history of this little country. With our guide, we travel to Ischgl, where we have a morning coffee break and soak up the atmosphere in this lovely little ski resort. We continue our day driving through glorious scenery to the Silvretta Reservoir, from where we can view Piz Buin, the highest mountain in Vorarlberg. It is 22.3 km long with a total of 34 hairpin bends. The scenery on this high road is simply unforgettable and a real highlight of the holiday. We round our day off at the Suchard Chocolate Factory shop, which contains a selection of all the chocolates manufactured at the factory in Bludenz.
