Southsea is a seaside resort that you'll never tire of; it's exciting, vibrant and entertaining. From our Southsea base, this holiday visits the great waterfront city of Portsmouth with its proud naval and maritime heritage.
Being one of England's only island city's and a fascinating centre for maritime history, you cannot fail to be amazed on a visit to Portsmouth especially its Historic Dockyard which is just bursting with tales to tell of times gone by. Portsmouth Harbour Tours are the best way to explore the Dockyard as you come up close to Lord Nelson's famous warship the HMS Victory.
Another highlight of your tour to Portsmouth is a visit to the Mary Rose Museum. Here you can find out more about King Henry VIII's famous warship, its crew and see a wonderful collection of artefacts recovered from the wreck site after the Mary Rose sank in 1545.
Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, we make our way to the Best Western Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea for our four-night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: Today we spend the day in Maritime Portsmouth. We have included the full navy ticket for entrance to all eleven attractions at the Historic Docks. We also include entry to the Mary Rose Exhibition which also is situated in the Historic Docks. Here you can find out more about King Henry VIII’s famous warship, its crew and see a wonderful collection of artefacts recovered from the wreck site after the Mary Rose sank in 1545.
Day 3: This morning we visit the city of Chichester, with the opportunity to visit the stunning cathedral, or maybe a wander around the attractive high street. Later this afternoon, we include a 1 hr 30-minute boat cruise around the lovely Chichester harbour.
Day 4: A day at leisure to relax and explore at your own pace. You might like to visit Southsea Castle, the Royal Marines Museum or even take the hovercraft across to the Isle of Wight (fare not included).
Day 5: This morning we return to Norfolk, making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival, our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
