Day 1: Following your home taxi service we join our tour coach and head west to Weston-Super-Mare and The Royal Hotel for our 4 night stay on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Today we visit Bristol, which boasts an intriguing mix of old and new, from the modern harbourside to the historic Old City. On our arrival we are joined by a local guide for a tour of this fascinating city. You will then have the rest of the day to explore at your own pace. Why not visit Brunel's SS Great Britain, the world's first great ocean liner which has resided in Bristol since 1970. A heroic salvage operation in the Falkland Islands thousands of miles away brought the ship back to Bristol harbour, where she was first built in 1856; it’s remarkable she still exists in one piece. Today, visitors can explore almost every inch of the almost 100m-long vessel. The tour of the first ship in the world to be both built of iron and powered by a screw propeller begins belowdecks with a walk beneath the vast hull and around that huge propeller. It’s a perfect introduction to your discovery of this pioneering ship. (entry not included). Alternatively, you may wish to head to one of the attractions you saw on this mornings tour. Keep an eye out for some famous street art, as the enigmatic Banksy is the local whose work really put Bristol on the map over 20 years ago.
Day 3: Today is a day of leisure to relax in Weston Super Mare. Nestled on the Somerset coast, with a 2-mile stretch of sandy beach, the level seafront is a delightful stroll from the hotel. you’ll find a magnificent grand pier and plenty of seaside attractions – you’ll soon see why visitors come back time and time again! Nature lovers will be left in awe by the beautiful greenery of the town’s parks and gardens, and if you’re searching for culture and history, there are many museums and galleries to explore, with Weston Museum being a highlight.
Day 4: This morning we head into the Mendip hills. Our first stop is Cheddar, set below the towering Cheddar Gorge Cliffs which have fascinated visitors for centuries. There are gentle riverside walks to be enjoyed from the village, as well as quaint tearooms and, of course, the famous Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company reputed to be the home of Cheddar cheese, where it is still made today. We then continue our journey to Wells, The smallest city in England. See the unique moated Bishop’s Palace and the magnificent Cathedral, which provides the main focal point of the city and dates back to the 13th century. The cobbled streets and medieval architecture are barely changed since the 14th century. After some free time here, we then continue to Glastonbury, famous for its ruined Abbey and the legendary burial place of King Arthur and Guinevere.
Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head back to Norfolk making suitable stops on the way. On arrival in Norfolk our door to door taxi service will be waiting to return you home.
