Liverpool is an exciting city filled with an exhilarating atmosphere and classic buildings. Most famous for the birth of the Beatles, two world famous football clubs and the Grand National steeplechase. It has a thriving arts scene and an abundance of museums and galleries all waiting to be explored

One of the highlights of our tour is a journey on the Mersey. See Liverpool and Wirral's most iconic sights aboard the world-famous Mersey Ferry. The 50 minute River Explorer Cruise offers you stunning views of Liverpool's skyline and the River Mersey. You will find out lots of interesting facts about city's rich musical heritage, learn how the ferries played their part in the First World War and hear more about Liverpool’s maritime history from the expert recorded commentary, which plays throughout the cruise. All you need to do is sit back, relax and take in the views. You'll be captivated as the rich and fascinating history of our world-famous waterfront unfolds before you.

Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our luxury tour coach and head north west to Liverpool and our hotel for the next 4 nights, the Liverpool Marriott City Centre on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: This morning we are joined by a local guide on board our coach for a fascinating tour of the city, including places made famous by The Beatles, Titanic White Star Line, Bill Shankly and much more. After our tour we have some free time to explore Liverpool before we board a boat for a trip on the River Mersey. See Liverpool and Wirral's most iconic sights aboard the world-famous Mersey Ferry on this 50 minute cruise. You will find out lots of interesting facts about city's rich musical heritage, learn how the ferries played their part in the First World War and hear more about Liverpool’s maritime history from the expert recorded commentary, which plays throughout the cruise. Day 3: Our first stop is to the Victorian seaside town of Southport, where there is still an air of Victorian elegance in the galleries along Lord Street – be sure to admire the view from the beautiful pier! Following our visit, we continue to Rufford Old Hall & Gardens. A fine Tudor building and the home for stories of romance, wealth and 500 years of Hesketh family history. Be wowed by the Tudor Great Hall with its fantastic furniture, arms, armour, tapestries and the carved oak screen, a rare survivor from the 1500s. You can also relax as you stroll through Rufford’s Victorian and Edwardian gardens.

Day 4: Today we make the short journey into the historic city of Chester where the day is then free for you to explore. When visiting this majestic city, take a step back in time and walk down the cobbled streets to discover the famous black and white ‘rows’ in the city centre. The half-timbered buildings now house some of Chester’s most beautiful stores, boutiques and restaurants. In this majestic city, you will find one of the largest Roman amphitheatres in Britain; with ongoing excavations just outside the old city’s walls. Take time to discover Chester’s Roman heritage and walk the two-mile ring of Roman walls made from local red sandstone. Only a short walk away, is the picturesque River Dee, with a charming riverbank known as the ‘Groves’ which is complete with a promenade, bandstand, boat rides and ice cream!
