Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, we make our way to North Wales for our 4 night stay at the Celtic Royal hotel in Caernarfon on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. Entertainment will be provided on 2 nights during your stay
Day 2: This morning, after a leisurely breakfast, we head to the interesting Isle of Anglesey, a place of unparalleled beauty, Anglesey is an historic island, full of character. Firstly, we will travel to Llanfair PG. A small town with a big name, 58 letters long in fact, you may even have time to learn how to say it before we continue to Beaumaris. This captivating seaside town, with its mix of medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture has a stunning seafront and is probably best known for its unfinished castle. After some free time, we board the cruiser to Puffin Island – home to many species of birds and wildlife. The 1½ hour cruise, with live commentary, takes you right round the island with regular sightings of puffins, grey seals and dolphins. (Cruise subject to weather conditions).
Day 3: Todays excursion takes us to Betws-y-Coed, a beautiful location set amongst woods and riverbanks. Here you can potter around the independent shops, enjoy a breath of fresh air on a walking trail or enjoy a bite to eat in one of the many cafes. This afternoon, we continue via the Llanberis Pass to the village of Llanberis, which lies at the foot of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Here we board the Llanberis Lake Railway. The journey takes you past the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle, across possibly Britain's shortest river and past Llanberis' twin lakes. From Llanberis, the train runs non-stop through the Padarn Country Park, joining the 1845 slate railway route to run along the shores of Lake Padarn to Penllyn, providing stunning views of Snowdon. There will be a short stop at Cei Llydan, as well as Gilfach Ddu, where you can watch the driver stoking the fire, the engine taking water, or spend some time in the gift shop and cafe. The five mile return trip takes around 60 minutes
Day 4: Today we have a free day to explore Caernarfon. Caernarfon is home to Wales’ most famous castle and is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mighty Caernarfon Castle commands the lion’s share of attention, but the town’s narrow streets and stylishly redeveloped waterfront also merit a visit. The huge castle, with its unusual octagon towers, was the largest of many built by Edward I at the end of the 13th century. Edward’s son was born here in 1284 and became the first Prince of Wales followed, nearly seven centuries later, by Prince Charles, now King Charles III. (attractions today subject to individual choice and payment)
