Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our platinum executive tour coach and make our way to Kent for our crossing to France. We then continue our journey through Belgium and Germany until we arrive in Boppard for our 4 night stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. We will enjoy a welcome glass of wine followed by a delicious evening meal.
Day 2: This morning we cross the river and head to the ‘wine town’ of Rüdesheim. Rüdesheim has one of Germany’s prettiest Christmas markets with stalls representing different nations from around the world. The festively decorated Christmas stands provide lots of handmade arts and crafts; candles, decorations, wood figures, wood carvings, glass engravings, ‘schwibbogen’ arched candles, mangers, pewter casters and dolls. Don’t forget to explore the vibrant ‘Drosselgasse’, a narrow alley lined with restaurants, shops and bars - the perfect place to enjoy a glass of local wine or beer.
Day 3: This morning we make the short journey to Norwich’s Twin city of Koblenz which is famed for the mighty Ehrenbrietstein Fortress. You will have the day at leisure to visit the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) on the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers where you can stroll through the festively decorated city centre. The traditional Koblenz Christmas Market is one of the most popular Christmas Markets in Germany, and the stalls spread over several locations in the Old City (squares such as: Munzplatz, Am Plan, Josef-Gorres-platz, Jesuitenplatz and and Willi-Horter-Platz) offer a huge selection of gifts, arts, crafts and Christmas decorations. All the flavours of Christmas are here, including spicy mulled wine and sweet smelling Christmas cakes.
A particularly festive sight awaits you on Jesuitenplatz. Here you will find the city's largest Advent calendar, composed of the colourfully lit dormer windows of the baroque town hall
Day 4: This morning we travel along the Moselle Valley to Cochem, said to be one of the prettiest towns along the Moselle. Known for its historic half-timbered houses and fabulous Reichsburg Castle, you will see the festively decorated stalls within a lovely old town setting. Why not sample some of the tasty delicacies or try the local white mulled wine, considered to be a Moselle specialty.
Day 5: Sadly we say ‘auf weidersein’ to our hotel and begin our journey back to Calais for our crossing to the UK. We then continue to Norfolk where our door to door taxi service will be waiting to take you home.
