On this fascinating tour we step back in time and explore a wonderful selection of historic treasures, where there are stories around every corner. We step back in time at Chatham Dockyard and visit Leeds Castle which is often referred to as the ‘loveliest castle in the world!’
Day 1: After leaving our local pick up points, we make our way to Maidstone in Kent and our hotel for the next three nights, the 4 star Orida Hotel on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: After breakfast we take a short drive to the magnificent Leeds Castle to experience the Castle dressed in its festive finest. There will be trees dripping in iridescent ornaments and extravagant décor covering the roaring fireplaces. Glide through the doors and experience all the glamour and Christmas spirit of a luxurious country home. There will be time to find out about the Castle’s 900-year history - from being a Norman stronghold through 300 years of Royal ownership to then becoming Henry VIII’s resplendent Tudor Palace. This is afternoon we head back to Maidstone for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 3: Today we head to Chatham Dockyard and return to the ‘Age of Sail’ when the Dockyard built mighty ships that mastered the world’s oceans. Test your sea legs on HMS Ocelot, a Cold War Submarine during her 60th birthday year; explore HMS Cavalier, a Second World War Destroyer and walk the deck of HMS Gannet, the Victorian Sloop. Watch the Master Ropemakers at work using centuries old techniques on the iconic Ropewalk and explore the brand new Ropery gallery.
Day 4: This morning we depart our hotel and head back to Norfolk and our local drop of points making suitable stops en route.

Our hotel is located in the heart of Kent, on the outskirts of Maidstone. The spacious ensuite guestrooms feature 49-inch TVs, work desks and tea/coffee facilities.
