Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our luxury tour coach and head north to the Border area and our overnight hotel, the Holiday Inn Dumfries.
Day 2: This morning we continue our journey into Scotland, stopping on route in the City of Glasgow, where we will have some free time for you to explore the city. Take in the sights of famous George Square and perhaps go hunting for some last-minute bargains in Princes shopping centre. We then continue our journey to Pitlochry and our hotel for the next 4 nights, the lovely Fishers Hotel, on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. After dinner this evening we are treated to an evening of live entertainment.
Day 3: Christmas Eve - This morning we head out on a scenic drive, passing through the breath-taking Glencoe Valley. No description can re-create the impact of seeing Glencoe for the first time. It has long been one of the most loved places in Scotland, and what is Glencoe famous for? It’s known equally for its awe-inspiring views and sorrowful past – it is a place of history, wildlife, adventure and myth. The mountains were formed through violent volcanic eruptions, and then sculpted by massive glaciers. We make a couple of photo stops enroute, before continuing to Fort William. This bustling resort is set in a beautiful location, at the foot of Ben Nevis, overlooking tranquil Loch Linnhe. From dramatic hills to iconic films locations, castles and distilleries, there are plenty of things to do in Fort William. Take your time and explore the natural wonders of Lochaber, breathe the fresh mountain air and marvel at some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. After free time we head back to our hotel where we are greeted with a festive cream tea. Dinner this evening is followed by live entertainment, and at midnight, for those who wish to join us, mince pies and mulled wine will be served.
Day 4: Christmas Day - Happy Christmas! - To begin this special day we have a full Scottish breakfast, with the rest of the morning at leisure to open your gifts and relax by the fire in the lounge. At lunchtime we gather in the dining room and enjoy a traditional Christmas Lunch, we may even have a special visitor after our meal. During the afternoon, you could watch the Kings speech, or enjoy a stroll around Pitlochry to walk off that delicious meal. This evening’s dinner, if you can manage it, will be a full cold meat buffet followed by live entertainment.
Day 5: Boxing Day - Today we visit the ‘fair city’ of Perth, receiving its nickname after the Fair Maid of Perth by Sir Walter Scott was published in 1828. This elegant city was once the ancient capital of Scotland, and today has a wealth of museums, art galleries, stunning gardens, and quaint tearooms. We then continue to Dundee, with its regenerated waterfront, nautical museums, and the V&A Museum – the first Victoria and Albert Museum outside of London which opened in 2018. We later return to our hotel in time to prepare for our final evening.
Day 6: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and begin our journey back to the border area through ever changing scenery, making suitable stops en route. For our overnight hotel, we will again stay at the Holiday Inn Dumfries.
Day 7: This morning we continue our journey south and head back to Norfolk where our door to door taxi service will be waiting to return you home.
