If you’re looking for a break that combines spectacular scenery and famous cities, with a stay at a fabulous hotel, then this is the trip for you! You will also enjoy all the festivities of a Scottish Christmas and Hogmanay all in the same week.

Our excursions include visits to historic Stirling, with its famous castle, as well as a visit to the awe inspiring Kelpies - an incredible tribute to the horse powered heritage of Central Scotland and a sight to behold.

No visit to Scotland would be complete without a visit to a famous Loch or two, and on this tour, we certainly tick all the boxes.

Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our luxury tour coach and begin our journey North through everchanging scenery to our overnight hotel, the Holiday Inn Scotch Corner.

Day 2: After a leisurely breakfast we continue our journey north, crossing the border into Scotland. We will make a stop in Glasgow where we will visit the Peoples Palace Science Museum. This fascinating museum is set in historic Glasgow Green, and tells the story of the people and city of Glasgow from 1750 to the end of the 20th century. Explore the city's local history through a wealth of historic artefacts, paintings, prints and photographs, film and interactive computer displays. This experience will give you a wonderful insight into how Glaswegians lived, worked and played in years gone by. We then continue our journey, arriving at the Rob Roy Hotel, where we will be greeted with mulled wine and mince pies. During our stay we will enjoy two nights of entertainment.

Day 3: “Christmas Day” – This morning we enjoy a visit to the Kelpies, where we have a guided tour of the largest equine sculptures in the world, which tower 100 feet over the Forth & Clyde Canal. They are an incredible tribute to the horse powered heritage of Central Scotland and are a sight to behold. We then continue to the city of Stirling, the ancient capital of Scotland. Here the streets of the Old Town all wind upwards towards the ancient castle. Whilst you are here we have included a visit to Stirling Castle in its grandeur, with its superb sculptures and beautiful gardens. From the castle, you can admire the surrounding landscape, known as ‘Braveheart Country’, following Hollywood’s interpretation of the life of William Wallace, Scotland’s first freedom fighter. After free time we return to our hotel to enjoy Christmas Dinner, followed by dancing and gifts from Santa.

Day 4: “Hogmanay”- Today we enjoy a visit to Balloch, an enchanting village on the foot of the Loch Lomond offering fantastic shopping and dining experiences. Here we board a boat for a one hour circular tour of Loch Lomond's South basin. We will enjoy views of the magnificent Ben Lomond and pass a number of Loch Lomond's stately homes and castles along the shoreline. We also venture out towards Inchmurrin Island - the largest of Loch Lomond's 33 islands which is home to the ancient remains of Lennox Castle. A historic building which once sheltered a fugitive Robert the Bruce before he was to become King of Scotland in the 14th century.

This afternoon we visit Luss. This picture-postcard village is located on the western shore of Loch Lomond and has a rich history dating back to medieval times. Head to the end of the pier to enjoy the spectacular view of Ben Lomond or choose from a range of short walking trails which explore the village. Afterwards, we return to the hotel for our Hogmanay dinner followed by live music.

Day 5: “New Years Day “ – Today we embark on a scenic tour of the Trossachs. We begin by traveling via the Brig O’Turk and Kilmahog to Callander, a great wee highland town, and a fabulous place for picking up Scottish souvenirs, especially the Trossachs Woollen Mill which has its own resident highland cows.  From here we continue our journey to Pitlochry, famous for its Scottish hospitality, fascinating clan heritage, historic distilleries and quaint tearooms, all set against a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills and picturesque woodland.  After some free time we continue our journey passing through Aberfeldy and along the bank of Loch Tay, before returning to our hotel in time to relax with mulled wine and shortbread before dinner.

Day 6: After breakfast we depart our hotel and journey south to our overnight hotel, the Holiday Inn Darlington Scotch Corner making suitable stops en route.

Day 7: This morning we continue our journey back to Norfolk. We make suitable stops along the way, arriving early evening to find our door to door taxi service waiting to return you home.
