Day 1: Joining the coach from one of our convenient local joining points, we make our way to Yorkshire and the four star Cedar Court Hotel for our 3 night stay on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: After breakfast we begin our Emmerdale adventure, travelling firstly to Otley, (Hotton in the series). We enjoy time here before moving on to the tiny village of Esholt where the show was filmed for decades before residents wished to reclaim their village and a replica filming village was built on the Harewood estate, which we will visit later in the day. After spending some time looking around, we head into the Woolpack inn where we have arranged for a drink. It is the original Emmerdale Woolpack and the only 'soap' pub where you can get a drink. This afternoon we travel for our Emmerdale Village Tour, starting at the New Inn Pub, Eccup Lane, Leeds where we will head to the secret filming location on the Harewood Estate.
As the home of Yorkshire’s favourite soap, you’ll step into the familiar surroundings of the Emmerdale Village and wander the streets that the Woolpack, David’s Shop and your favourite characters call home. This fully-guided outdoor walking tour of the exterior Emmerdale sets will give you the chance to explore the village as our guides give you an insight into how the dramatic storylines of Emmerdale make the journey from script to screen.
Day 3: Today we head to the delightful spa town of Harrogate where we enjoy a free day to explore and enjoy the pretty Yorkshire town. With its huge open spaces, broad tree-lined boulevards, antique shops and elegant buildings, there is plenty to see and do. A must visit is the world-famous Betty’s Tearooms. The iconic 19th century Pump Room, originally built to welcome Victorian visitors is also worth a visit and is now home to a fascinating museum of the town’s fashionable Spa history, together with the nearby Mercer Gallery which has an important collection of artwork spanning the centuries right up to present-day.
Day 4: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head to Holmfirth. Sitting in the heart of the breath-taking Holme Valley, this picture-postcard town is popular with walkers and wildlife lovers alike and is the renowned location of the TV classic Last of the Summer Wine. The town is jam packed with fantastic independent businesses and is well worth a visit! Whilst we are here you may fancy a coffee in Sid’s café or grab the opportunity for a photo outside of Nora Batty’s house. We later re-join our coach and make our way back to Norfolk and our local joining points.
