Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to Newquay for our 4 night stay at the Esplanade Hotel on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. Upon your arrival you will be treated to a Cornish cream tea while your cases are taken to your rooms.
Day 2: Today we have a full day tour around the West Cornwall Peninsular. Our first stop will be the popular harbour town of Penzance. Nestled in a corner of glorious Mount’s Bay, the town is a hidden gem. You will encounter all the salt-flecked history you’ll expect from its famous name – the pirate cobbled alleyways, the bobbing boats and dockside taverns – along with a vibrant local scene. Here you will discover authentic Cornwall. Explore the winding streets, subtropical gardens and a promenade with dazzling views of the bay. We then make a brief stop at Lands’ End before continuing to St Ives, passing through the coastal villages of Sennen, St Just, and Zennor. St Ives is a seemingly subtropical oasis where the beaches are golden, the vegetation is lush and the light piercingly bright. It’s no wonder then that the town has been attracting artists for decades who come to capture the area’s undeniable natural beauty. It started with J M W Turner and the marine artist Henry Moore who first came to St Ives in the mid-1800s and since then the town has become a magnet for some of the world’s greatest painters, sculptors and ceramists. There are plenty of pavement cafes, ancient pubs and top notch eateries with mouth watering menus serving local produce. (A packed lunch is supplied today)
Day 3: A leisurely excursion calling at the historic city of Truro, Cornwall’s county town, dominated by a stunning cathedral. Truro is a delight to explore, with its maze of cobbled alleyways and beautiful Georgian architecture. We continue to Cornwall’s lovely south coast to visit the lovely fishing village of Mevagissey, celebrated for its quaint streets, traditional slate cob cottages and photogenic harbour. Narrow streets and steep valley sides lead down to the centre of the old Mevagissey where the distinctive twin harbour provides a safe haven for the many fishing boats that land their daily catch of skate, lobster, plaice and sole. In typical picture postcard style, pubs, cafes, galleries and shops cluster around the harbour walls and line the pretty streets. Named after two Irish saints, St Meva and St Issey, the village dates back to at least 1313 and during the 1800s Mevagissey prospered on the back of the abundant source of pilchards out to sea. Around the maze of streets you’ll find plenty of seafood restaurants that the village is renowned for. (A packed lunch is supplied today)
Day 4: Time to really relax with a free day in Newquay. One of the nation’s favourite seaside resorts, stunning Newquay is an idyllic destination to enjoy a coastal retreat. Relax in one of the delightful beachside eateries or take in the surf and spray of Fistral Beach – known as a surfer’s paradise, this is the perfect place to watch the world go by. If you’re looking to explore more, browse the charming independent shops or take a stroll along the coastal path and enjoy spectacular views out to sea. (A hot buffet lunch is included today)
Day 5: Following your leisurely breakfast we make our way back to Norfolk, making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival our taxi service will be waiting to take you home.
