Day 1: Following a departure from one of our convenient local joining points, we join our platinum executive tour coach and travel to Harwich for the ferry crossing to Holland. After docking, we continue to our hotel, situated on the outskirts of Utrecht. (Length of crossing approximately 7 hours).
Day 2: The highlight of our tour takes us to Keukenhof Gardens. Also known as 'The Garden of Europe', it is the world's largest permanent flower garden, where we can admire fantastic floral displays. About seven million tulip bulbs are planted here each year along with crocuses, daffodils, orchids and other flowers, creating an explosion of brilliant colour.
The gardens only open in the spring, to ensure the best possible seasonal display of the beautiful flowering plants. Across 80 acres of parkland, Keukenhof also has tranquil ponds, sculpture gardens, greenhouses, a windmill open to the public, and has several cafés and terraces to relax in.
Day 3: This morning we head to Hoorn to board the famous steam tram for a journey through the lovely Dutch countryside to Medemblik, during the journey we are served coffee and a locally produced pastry. On arrival in Medemblik, we have time to explore the beautiful, historic centre and harbour before boarding the MS Friesland for a cruise to Enkhuizen. On our return to the hotel, we cross the Houtribdilk, a 27km (17Miles) long dyke which now forms the largest inland lake in Western Europe
Day 4: We spend the morning in the famous pottery town of Delft. Delft is best discovered on foot, walking along its tree-lined canals with centuries old houses and little bridges. Discover the ‘Oude Kerk’ with its leaning tower, housing Holland’s loudest sounding bell, or visit the New Church of Delft. This church dates back to 1300 and is famous for the tomb of William the Silent and Royal crypt where most members of the Dutch Royal family are buried (entry not included) . After lunch, we continue to the Hook of Holland for the return ferry crossing to Harwich. (Length of crossing approximately 6. hours). After disembarkation, we continue to Norfolk and your local joining points.
