Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to the Rosemundy House Hotel in St Agnes for our 6 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: We begin our day with a visit to Padstow, a delightful little port, nestling on the beautiful Camel Estuary, with a picturesque harbour surrounded by pastel washed Medieval houses. Later we include a visit to Pencarrow House. This elegant Georgian house is filled with elegant furniture and artworks, and its gardens feature the Grand Victorian Rockery and Italian Garden.
Day 3: Our excursion this morning takes us to St Ives. A great seafaring town from the middle ages, with the largest fleet of fishing boats on the north coast of Cornwall. It was not until the wall and pier were built to create a safe harbour for the fishing fleet that the town you see today began to form. See the picturesque harbour, stroll along the beach or browse the maze of narrow cobbled streets lined with independent shops and fisherman's cottages. We return to St Agnes for an afternoon at leisure
Day 4: Day at leisure to relax and explore the picturesque resort of St Agnes. The village is not only a World Heritage Site but also an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll find no fewer than four unspoilt beaches from which dolphins, sharks and seals have all been spotted - and for fans of Ross Poldark, Winston Graham lived just down the road and used the whole parish as the inspiration for his Poldark series of books, dubbing it ‘Poldark Country’!
Day 5: After breakfast, we travel to Falmouth. The town stands on a peninsula below the headland crowned by Pendennis Castle. One of the premier resorts on the Cornish Riviera founded on centuries of nautical history. Falmouth is a charming old port with a year-round mild climate that allows sub-tropical gardens to flourish and boasts one of the highest average sunshine records in Britain. The resort has a famous large natural harbour, narrow cobbled streets, olde-worlde inns, and many historical buildings. Later we enjoy a cruise up the Fal River. We sail through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, passing deep-sided wooded valleys, historic houses and an abundance of marine activity. This scenic river trip is one of the most beautiful in the world.
Day 6: We spend the day with our Blue Badge Guide visiting many of the sites you will have seen on TV drama ‘Doc Martin’, including Bodmin Moor and of course Port Isaac – Port Wenn in the show. The narrow lanes of whitewashed stone cottages lead down to the harbour – a truly peaceful and unspoilt spot. We also visit Tintagel, steeped in legend and mystery and said to be the birthplace of King Arthur. You might like to go to the visitor centre, King Arthur’s Halls or the castle itself (entry not included).
Day 7: After breakfast, we make the return journey to Norfolk, where our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
