Day 1: Following your home collection by our door to door taxi service you will join our luxury tour coach and we will make our way to Windsor for some time at leisure. We then make our way to the Holiday Inn Shepperton for our 4 night stay on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: This morning we head to Westminster Pier where we board the Thames River Boat for a cruise along the Thames to Kew Gardens.
The cruise takes approximately 1-hour, 30-minutes & passes through the City of Westminster & a number of London Boroughs including Chelsea, Wandsworth & Putney before arriving in the upper reaches. The next stage of the journey cruises through Hammersmith, Barnes & Chiswick, following the winding path of the river round islands & stately homes before arriving at Kew Pier.
During the cruise we will pass beneath a number of London’s iconic bridges & pass numerous landmarks including Westminster Bridge, the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament), Lambeth Palace, Battersea Power Station, Chelsea Bridge & Albert Bridge.
Upon your arrival we have an included visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. Wander through beautiful glasshouses such as the iconic Palm House, home to an exotic rainforest; explore different climate zones at the Princess of Wales Conservatory; or be amazed by the giant lily pads at the Waterlily House. The gardens also include the ornate Great Pagoda and Kew Palace – the former summer residence of King George III, which is open in the summer months.
Day 3: This morning we head to the City of London, where we have included a fascinating guided tour of historic St. Paul’s Cathedral. Discover a working cathedral steeped in history when you visit St Paul's Cathedral. Destroyed by the Great Fire of London in 1666, the current building was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1710. Its iconic dome is 111 metres (364ft) high and is one of the largest cathedral domes in the world. You will Experience breathtaking views along the central aisle as you enter the cathedral, and your experienced guide will point out historical monuments and memorials of some of the nation’s greatest heroes.
After our visit you will have free time to explore London at your own leisure.
Day 4: Our excursion today takes us back to Westminster for a guided tour of the Palace of Westminster, the Chamber of the House of Lords, the House of Commons and Westminster Hall. The tour follows the processional route taken by His Majesty the King when he performs the state Opening of Parliament.
Our next destination is Buckingham Palace for a self guided tour of the State Rooms, which are lavishly furnished with some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection. Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the King and serves both as a home and as a setting for ceremonial occasions.
Day 5: Sadley this morning we depart our hotel and make our way to Henley on Thames. Arguably one of the most beautiful towns in England, and recently voted by The Times as one of the best places to live in the English countryside, Henley’s riverside location, surrounded by a Chiltern landscape of wooded hills and green fields, lends itself to relaxation, long lunches and great shopping. There’s a pub where Charles I drank, a Chantry house, a butcher that smokes his own meat and independent shops still offering the personal touch. Henley is a regular winner of RHS Britain in Bloom medals and the home of a well-known TV detective! After some free time we continue back to Norfolk, where our door to door taxi service will be waiting to take you home.
