We travel through the stunning Derbyshire Dales and into the Peak District to board the 'Judith Mary' canal boat in Whaley Bridge.
Soon after leaving Whaley Bridge, the boat will navigate its way through the last section of the Upper Peak Forest Canal built in 1800 which is carved out of the sides of a mountain which overlooks the valley of the River Goyt. You will be travelling in a north westerly direction through outstanding countryside, with magnificent views of the mountains all around. The canal is higher than the railway in the valley, and passes villages and towns like Bridgemont, then onto picturesque Furness Vale Marina to New Mills taking in the impressive Kinder Scout, at 631 metres this is the highest plateau in the UK and here the boat will turn and make its way back to Whaley Bridge.
During your two hour cruise is an included Hot Pot lunch with Apple Pie & Cream.
After our cruise we head to Bakewell for a brief stop before we head back home.
