Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, you will join our luxury tour coach and we will head north to Scotland and our base for the next 4 nights, The Winnock Hotel in Drymen. After settling into your rooms, you will join your hosts for a drinks reception. Dinner this evening is followed by an evening with Gregor Cameron, featuring a highland weaponry display.
Day 2: Christmas Eve - Today we enjoy a day at leisure in Edinburgh. The majestic castle towers over the whole city, and the medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town sit side by side. Princes Street is home to city centre shopping, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafés to enjoy where you can sit and watch the world go by! Later, we return to our hotel for another delicious 3 course dinner, followed by an evening of song & dance. (A packed lunch is supplied today)
Day 3: Christmas Day - After a full Scottish breakfast we head to Loch Lomond, our fist stop this morning is Balloch, an enchanting village on the foot of the Loch Lomond offering fantastic shopping and dining experiences. Here we board a boat for a one hour circular tour of Loch Lomond's South basin. We will enjoy views of the magnificent Ben Lomond and pass a number of Loch Lomond's stately homes and castles along the shoreline.
This afternoon we head to the Glengoyne distillery. Here we have a one hour guided tour of this famous distillery, before you have the chance to try 2 Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Whiskies as you learn about the bold, complex flavours. We return to our hotel where we have a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, and even have a visit from Santa (a packed lunch is supplied today)
Day 4: New Years Eve - We depart our hotel and head into the Trossachs National Park, often known as the Highlands in Miniature, passing the towns of Calendar and Aberfoyle. Later this afternoon we visit the enchanted Woodland forest light trail at North Balloch Farm. Stroll around the 14 acres of woodland and be in awe of the brilliant lighting, effects and dazzling projections featuring the natural landscape. (Please note, this is an outdoor event and suitable footwear and clothing is required).
We return to our hotel for this evenings traditional Hogmanay celebration where a perfectly roasted sirloin of beef is served, followed by a famous Scottish night with Auld lang syne and Scottish bagpipes. (A packed lunch is provided today)
Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel, and make our way back to Norfolk arriving early evening. Upon our arrival we re-join our door to door taxi service who will return you safely home.
