Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, you will join our luxury tour coach, as we head to Caernarfon and our hotel for the next four nights, the Celtic Royal Hotel on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. On our arrival you can relax with a tea/coffee and biscuits while your luggage is delivered to your rooms.
Day 2: Our first visit today takes us to the shores of Cardigan Bay to Portmeirion. Situated on its own private peninsula, overlooking spectacular coastal scenery, enjoy a stroll around the formal gardens within the surrounding wilderness of exotic plants and pretty woodlands. Portmeirion was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976 to show how a naturally beautiful site could be redeveloped without spoiling it, and is now one of Wales's top attractions.
Later we return to our base of Caernarfon, guarded by the mighty castle where there is free time to explore at leisure or perhaps relax in the hotel leisure facilities.
Day 3: This morning we travel to the village of Llanberis, in the shadow of Mount Snowdon. Here we join the Llanberis Lake Railway for a delightful ride along the lake shore.
The little steam engines take you on a journey alongside Lake Padarn, right in the heart of Snowdonia. The journey takes you past the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle, across possibly Britain's shortest river and past Llanberis' twin lakes.
We have time to explore and obtain lunch in Llanberis before embarking on a ‘A Majestic Mountain Adventure’ with a ride on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. This world-famous little train takes you on a breathtaking ride to the top of Snowdon, at 3560 ft (1085m) the highest mountain in England and Wales. The views are stunning and this is not to be missed. On returning to Llanberis by train, the coach will meet you and return you to Caernarfon.
Day 4: Today we begin with a ride through the beautiful National Park of Snowdonia to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Here we catch the Ffestiniog Railway for an exhilarating ride across the mountains, descending to the sea at Porthmadog where we will have time to explore. This afternoon we head to Betws-y-Coed, a beautiful location set amongst woods and riverbanks. Here you can potter around the independent shops, enjoy a breath of fresh air on a walking trail or enjoy a bite to eat in one of the many cafes.
Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head back to Norfolk, making suitable stops along the way. We re-join our door to door taxi service who will return you safely home.
