Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our luxury tour coach and head to South Wales, arriving late afternoon at the Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli for our 4 night stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served on arrival while your luggage is taken to your rooms.
Day 2: This morning we make our way to Tenby, known for it’s warm atmosphere and fine Victorian houses. Take time to experience the friendly harbour, relax and unwind on one of the three fantastic beaches or simply sit and people watch. For the more adventurous, why not take the twenty minute boat journey to Caldy Island, owned and run by a community of Cistercian monks, open to the public on summer weekdays and Saturdays (crossing is subject to weather and additional cost applies). This afternoon we continue to the picturesque seaside village of Saundersfoot. This delightful village enjoys a superb setting on the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast. The resort lies in a sheltered wooded valley where pretty shopping streets slope down towards three lovely sandy beaches lapped by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. The busy harbour bustles with pleasure craft and fishing boats, and the resort is justifiably proud of its neat and well-kept appearance.
Day 3: Today we begin at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. This remarkable attraction is so much more than a garden. With many specially-themed areas, cascades and waterfalls, wonderful plant collections, sculpture, science, wildlife, history, heritage, the British Bird of Prey Centre, shopping and eating, there’s a world of wonders waiting to be discovered.
The Garden's centrepiece is the Great Glasshouse designed by Norman Foster and Partners. Inside the amazing tilted glass dome, is a Mediterranean landscape dominated by a six-metre deep ravine. Rock terraces and sheer faces are cut by streams and waterfalls. A lake provides a humid habitat at the foot of the chasm. Visitors are able to experience the aftermath of an Australian bush fire, pause in a Spanish olive grove or wander through collections of fuchsias from Chile.
This afternoon we continue to Carmarthen, pronounced Caerfyrddin in Welsh. Maybe visit Carmarthen Castle with its long and bloody history, walk one of the many town trails which showcase Carmarthen’s rich history or shop to your heart’s content in one of many new and refurbished shopping centres. (attractions in Carmarthen subject to individual choice and payment). We have some free time to sightsee and grab a cuppa before heading back to our hotel.
Day 4: This morning we visit the Gower Heritage Centre at Parkmill. Here, we meet our guide for a tour taking us to the beautiful unspoilt scenery of the Gower Peninsula, designated an ‘Area of outstanding natural beauty’. After the tour we return to the Heritage Centre and enjoy a Gower Cream Tea. From here, we enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Gower Peninsula and The Mumbles, delightfully located on Swansea Bay. We have time for a look round before returning to our hotel for our last night.
Day 5: After breakfast sadly, we must leave to begin our homeward journey, making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
