Day 1: From your chosen joining point we will make our way to Telford, stopping enroute in Coventry. While here, you could explore the rich tapestry of the past by visiting some of our city’s key landmarks including St Mary’s Guildhall or Coventry Cathedral. You may wish to discover the history of the British motor industry by exploring Coventry Transport Museum and The British Motor Museum. We then continue to our hotel for the next 4 nights, the 4-star Doubletree by Hilton Stratford upon Avon on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: Today our destination is the historic city of Worcester. At its centre is a magnificent cathedral, perched along the riverbank, dominating the skyline for miles around. The cathedral is one of the loveliest in England and dates back to Norman times. The early 12th century Chapter House, St. Wulfstan's Crypt and the mediaeval cloisters are among the most remarkable in the country, and King John's tomb in the Cathedral dates from 1216.
Although possessing all the sophistication and amenities of a city, Worcester with its attractive jumble of medieval, Tudor, Georgian, and modern architecture has the feel of a small town and is easy to explore and get around. Just a three minute walk from the cathedral takes you to the famous Royal Worcester Porcelain Museum and adjoining factory. Nearby, you can wander along medieval Friar Street, full of restaurants and bars nestled within original timber buildings, or maybe visit Greyfriars, a merchant's house built in 1480. (attractions in Worcester subject to individual choice and payment)
Day 3: Today is a day of leisure in Stratford upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. The town bursts with Shakespearean attractions, from his birthplace to his grave, which can be found in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church. Alternatively, you could enjoy a pleasant stroll along the banks of the River Avon, visit the shops in the town centre or relax in one of the tea rooms and watch the world go by!
Day 4: Today we enjoy an excursion to the medieval town of Warwick, where we have included entry to the majestic Castle. Built by a king, the seat of a kingmaker and vital stronghold in the Wars of the Roses and the English Civil War, Warwick Castle has played an important role in British history. It is one of the most dramatic and complete medieval castles in the country, and has been inhabited continuously since the Middle Ages. Bursting with tales of treachery and torture, passion and power, you'll meet all kinds of colourful characters with stories to tell as you explore the castle, from the mighty Great Hall to the lavish State Rooms. After your visit, the rest of the day will be at leisure to explore the city.
Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head back to Norfolk making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival we re-join our door to door taxi service who will be waiting to return you home.
