Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to our hotel where a warm welcome awaits us. Later we gather around the Christmas tree for a welcome drinks party with the members of the management team. Dinner this evening is followed by entertainment.
Day 2: Christmas Eve – This morning we head to Nottingham for the opportunity to buy those last-minute gifts. Much of the tourism in Nottingham is based around the legend of the Sherwood forest outlaw Robin Hood, who has been made world famous by several major Hollywood movies, and you will find trinkets galore in the city to buy for any fan. The city centre has been extensively pedestrianised making shopping a real pleasure, therefore it is not surprising that Nottingham has been voted one of the most “vital and vibrant” city centres in the UK. Presiding over the city on a rocky cliff, the legendary Nottingham Castle, has been called the ‘Jewel in Nottingham’s Crown’. Carved into the craggy rock face below, you’ll find the 800-year-old Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, said to be England’s oldest inn. It's an excellent traditional pub for procuring fine local ales.
When we arrive back at the hotel, warm up for dinner with a festive cream tea and in-house entertainment, topped off with a choice of hot chocolate, mulled wine & shortbread to end the day
Day 3: Christmas Day - A merry Christmas to you all. This morning we enjoy a bucks fizz with breakfast with the rest of the morning spent at leisure to enjoy all the festivities. After your traditional Christmas lunch, you may wish to listen to the Kings speech and enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea, or why not head out for an afternoon stroll. Dinner this evening is buffet style and will be followed by entertainment.
Day 4: Boxing Day - After a leisurely breakfast we visit the national memorial arboretum. The NMA is the United Kingdom's living and lasting memorial to commemorate and celebrate those who have given their lives in the service of their country and all who have served and those who have suffered as a result of conflict.
It is the site of the Armed Forces Memorial and consists of 150 acres of wooded parkland within the National Forest in Staffordshire where visitors can both enjoy and learn about the trees and their surroundings, and reflect upon their special symbolism.
We return to the hotel in time to enjoy tea, coffee and cake. Early afternoon we head out to enjoy a local pantomime performance. Tonight’s evening meal is followed by music and dancing.
Day 5: After a relaxed breakfast we board our coach and head back to Norfolk making suitable stops on the way. Upon arrival our taxi service will be waiting to take you home.
