Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our luxury tour coach and head west to Pembrokeshire and the Cliff Hotel in Gwbert for our 4 night stay on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. Upon arrival we enjoy mince pies & mulled wine while your bags are delivered your rooms.
Day 2: This morning we head south to Laugharne. Situated on the bank of the River Taf, the village is best known as being the home of Dylan Thomas. Amongst all the pretty houses, there is also a ruined castle – the current structure dates from the 13th century and the castle has had quite a colourful history. There is a nice riverside walk which goes from the car park alongside the castle and on past the Dylan Thomas Boathouse. From here, we continue to Saundersfoot where we have free time to explore. This delightful village enjoys a superb setting on the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast. The resort lies in a sheltered wooded valley where pretty shopping streets slope down towards three lovely sandy beaches lapped by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. The busy harbour bustles with pleasure craft and fishing boats, and the resort is justifiably proud of its neat and well-kept appearance.
This afternoon we head to Tenby, one of the UK’s finest coastal holiday resorts. Tenby has retained its natural charm, narrow streets, harbour and beautiful beaches and is a delight to explore. We return to our hotel via the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
Day 3: (Christmas Day). We begin our day with a visit to St David’s. Surrounded by some of the finest coastlines in Europe, St David’s is the smallest cathedral city in Britain and is a popular location for pilgrims and artists alike. Adjacent to its 12th century cathedral stands the magnificent ruins of the medieval Bishop’s Palace.
This afternoon we enjoy a visit to enchanting Picton Castle. Set within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Picton Castle is a 13th century castle, surrounded by 60 acres of RHS partner gardens. As you explore the house be sure to visit the grand entrance hall, library, great hall, dining room and drawing rooms, before heading downstairs to the castle’s medieval undercroft. No visit to Picton is complete without a wander around the beautiful historic gardens, which includes a recently restored walled garden, fernery, jungle garden and maze.
This evening we have our Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, followed by an evening of entertainment.
Day 4: (New Years Day) This morning we visit the lovely market town of Cardigan, one of the oldest towns in Wales set on the banks of the River Towy, with a pedestrianised shopping area and a large modern covered market.
We continue our journey through the picturesque Teifi Valley to the National Wool Museum. Here, we enjoy a meet and greet talk before a self-led tour and let the story of wool, once the most important industry in Wales, weave its magic in this unique working museum.
This evening, we have a New Years Eve dinner followed by an evening of entertainment.
Day 5: After breakfast sadly, we must leave to begin our homeward journey, making suitable stops enroute. Upon arrival our door to door taxi service will be waiting to return you home.
