Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, you will join our luxury tour coach and we will head to Somerset and Wells where we find our hotel for the next four nights, the four star Swan hotel, on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: After breakfast we head across Exmoor National Park to visit Minehead. The Parish church used to be a beacon to both guide travellers on Exmoor and to help ships as they made their way into port. The town has a harbour, beach and promenade, all sheltered by the inland hills, with North Hill above the town providing views across the town and the Bristol Channel. Following our visit, we join the West Somerset Railway for a 20 mile scenic train journey to Bishops Lydeard, taking in the sights and sounds of the golden age of rail travel. The scenery is ever changing, from Quantock Hills country, Exmoor in the distance, and across the sea to South Wales. The train passes through lovingly restored stations on the way and even reaches the coast at Blue Anchor.
Day 3: Today we journey to the Somerset Coast today and visit Weston-super-Mare. Nestled on the Somerset coast, with a 2-mile stretch of sandy beach, the level seafront is a delightful stroll from the hotel. you’ll find a magnificent grand pier and plenty of seaside attractions – you’ll soon see why visitors come back time and time again! Nature lovers will be left in awe by the beautiful greenery of the town’s parks and gardens, and if you’re searching for culture and history, there are many museums and galleries to explore, with Weston Museum being a highlight.
This afternoon, we head to Oakham Treasures, one of the largest privately owned museums of retail and farming history in the UK. Opened to the public for the very first time since July 2008, it has already become an award-winning major attraction, and guarantees to give you an amazing and uplifting trip down memory lane. Whether you are 8 or 80, you'll be fascinated by this vast and unique collection of memorabilia from the last century. There really is something for everybody, from the thousands of items in the historic stores, to the impressive display of vintage tractors and farm equipment.
Day 4: A free day to enjoy all that Wells has to offer.
Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and make our way back to Norfolk making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival, we re-join our door to door taxi service who will return you safely home.
