Day 1: After our door to door service we travel north to Blackpool, arriving late afternoon at the Imperial Hotel for our 4 nights stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: This morning we head into the Lake District National Park, with our first stop of the day at Bowness. The centre of Bowness is made up of quaint alleyways and streets where you will find enticing gift shops, chic delis and atmospheric pubs. You may wish to visit The World of Beatrix Potter (entry not included) or enjoy a relaxing cruise on Lake Windermere (not included). From here we continue to Grasmere. In the heart of charming Grasmere, you'll find the tiny Sarah Nelson Gingerbread Shop located in the grounds of the pretty parish church - made to a top-secret recipe, this sweet treat is popular with visitors - don't be put off by the queue! Although Grasmere is possibly best known the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found." Set alongside Grasmere Lake, Grasmere is shrouded by a panorama of fells and mountains that provide the atmosphere so beloved of Wordsworth and the Romantic poets.
Day 3: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before having a free day to explore and enjoy Blackpool. Take a trip up the famous Blackpool Tower, which stands at 158 metres over the town, or stroll down the newly renovated South Promenade. Discover contemporary artwork by pop artist Sir Peter Blake and the glittery spectacle that is the world’s largest Mirror Ball in the Great Promenade Show - there is lots to see and do. After dinner, join us as we enjoy a ride along the seafront on one of Blackpool’s famous illuminated trams to view the illuminations. Instantly become part of the Illuminations show as passers-by look in wonder at these extraordinary heritage vehicles as they make their way along the seafront. The world-famous Illuminations need little introduction. There are six miles of traditional festoons and tableaux along the Promenade, featuring over a million bulbs to create a dazzling spectacle of lights. It’s no wonder it’s commonly known as the greatest free light show on Earth!
Day 4: Todays excursion takes us to Lancaster, one of England’s ‘Heritage Cities’. During our visit you could visit Lancaster’s castle and museums to uncover the city’s ancient stories hidden in its walls and buildings, or spend time on the high street. This afternoon we then travel to the seaside town of Morecambe. Stroll along Morecambe’s award-winning promenade with an ice cream and enjoy the views across the bay or perhaps visit the boutique stores and gift shops along the Promenade.
Day 5: This morning we depart our hotel and make the journey back to Norfolk where our door to door service will be waiting to take us back to our homes.
