Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to Newark for some free time. We then continue our journey North to Harrogate, arriving at our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2: After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to York where upon arrival we meet our blue badge guide for an included walking tour of the city. The rest of the day is then free to enjoy at your leisure. Rich in ancient history, romantic ambience and fun activities, York is renowned for its exquisite architecture, tangle of quaint cobbled streets, iconic York Minster and wealth of visitor attractions. Delve into the city's vibrant café culture, take time out to enjoy the famous shambles, Jorvik centre, or even the railway museum.
Day 3: This morning we step back into a bygone era and enjoy a journey onboard the Embsay and Bolton Railway. We will meet our coach at Embsay and continue onto Skipton where we will enjoy a cruise on one of the country’s best known inland waterways. This one-hour canal cruise will take you on a whistle-stop tour of Skipton. As you sail down the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, you will hear anecdotes and fascinating stories relating to the region. You'll discover how important the canal was for Yorkshire throughout the Industrial Revolution.
The rest of the day will be yours at leisure to explore Skipton. With its famous 900 year old castle, romantic ruined priory and historic cobbled High Street, Skipton is endlessly rich both in history and outstanding natural beauty. Take a stroll around the town and explore some of the interesting alleyways and shops.
Day 4: Today is a free day to explore Harrogate at your own pace. With its huge open spaces, broad tree-lined boulevards, antique shops and elegant buildings, there is plenty to see and do. A must visit is the world-famous Betty’s Tearooms. The iconic 19th century Pump Room, originally built to welcome Victorian visitors is also worth a visit and is now home to a fascinating museum of the town’s fashionable Spa history, together with the nearby Mercer Gallery which has an important collection of artwork spanning the centuries right up to present-day. Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and make our way back to Norfolk making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
