Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to Dorset and our hotel for the next 5 nights, the three star Hotel Rex in Weymouth on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: This morning our destination is West Bay, the Golden gateway to the Jurassic Coast. With the simmering golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs and the shimmering radiance of Golden Cap, it is a must see for fans of the ITV series Broadchurch which was filmed here. Why not visit the famous cliff and ‘Broadchurch Police Station’ as well as other sites that you may recognise from the hit TV Series. This afternoon we head to the market town of Bridport. It is a wonderful place to spend some time, with its streets full of galleries, booksellers, cafes, antique shops and boutiques. (attractions today subject to individual choice and payment)
Day 3: A day at leisure to explore. Weymouth is one of Britain’s oldest resorts, made popular by George III whose statue stands on the promenade. It has just about everything one could ask for in a seaside town: a lovely curving bay with soft sands, a fascinating harbour with interesting old pubs and cottages, the remains of a Tudor castle, some engaging architecture, a wide variety of shops and plenty to entertain. Add to this a bird reserve located central to town, a museum, and lots of local boat trips available, you are sure to find something to do.
Day 4: Swanage is our destination this morning. Upon our arrival, there will be the opportunity to explore this traditional Victorian seaside town, set at the heart of the Isle of Purbeck. Later we continue to Athelhampton House & Gardens. This fine 15th Century manor-house is surrounded by one of the great architectural gardens of England. The Gallery in the west wing exhibits works by the Russian artist Marevna who lived at the house in the 1940s/50s. The Grade I Listed gardens, dating from c1891, are full of vistas and have the fountains and River Piddle flowing through.
Day 5: Our first visit today is to Maritime Poole, a delightful town with its historic quayside, shops and famous pottery. Explore the historic quayside, host to visiting tall ships, fishing vessels and luxury motor yachts, before delving into the heart of the Old Town to discover more about this town’s links to its maritime past. This afternoon we head towards the famous Jurassic Coast and take time to visit Lulworth Cove, where there is the opportunity to walk down to the sea to admire the views before returning to our hotel.
Day 6: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head back to Norfolk making suitable stops along the way. Upon our arrival we re-join home taxi service who will return you home.
