Torquay is one of Britain’s most famous resorts. Situated at the heart of 22 miles of unspoilt coastline, it is often referred to as the “English Riviera”. It has a mild climate, sparkling blue waters and in its beautiful public gardens, you will see subtropical plants and palm trees. Torquay has something to offer everyone, which is why is it popular among a variety of holidaymakers who enjoy coach holidays to Torquay.
Day 1: Joining the coach from one of our convenient local joining points, we start the journey southwest to Devon, arriving at our hotel late afternoon for 4 nights dinner, bed & breakfast.
Day 2: Our excursion today takes us first to Dawlish, a quaint and friendly resort that was once a tiny fishing village until the Victorian Railway Age turned it into a thriving seaside town. It nestles between striking red sandstone cliffs overlooking a sandy beach, with the railway still running right alongside the seafront. We then make our way to Teignmouth, a handsome estuary town which has the benefits of a bustling harbour as well as the classic attractions of a seaside resort. It boasts an elegant Georgian crescent, promenade and Victorian pier with fine views across the bay.
Day 3: A day at leisure to use the facilities of the hotel or explore Torquay.
Day 4: Today’s excursion takes to the historic maritime city of Plymouth. The city has a great naval history, stretching back from the time of Sir Francis Drake and the Spanish Armada to today’s ultra-modern navy dockyards. Explore the Hoe, see the famous Mayflower Steps, visit the town centre and obtain lunch. This afternoon we head back to Paignton for some free time before returning to our hotel for our final evening.
Day 5: We depart for the return to Norfolk making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival we will drop you at your chosen local joining point.
